Healing Love: Peridot

Peridot is my birthstone. It is said to be a healing stone for love relationships. It's a green stone that's said to heal that little green monster that rears it's head in relationships. Jealousy and anger. Grrrl... Peridot increases confidence and self-assuredness. It is known as a friendly stone. It will also help us to visualize the epitome of our physical health and help us to see why we were put on this earth. January is an excellent time to pick some up since we think about our physical health and getting our lives together more in this month than in other months. However, I read you shouldn't use Peridot if you are confused or afraid, as it brings toxins to the surface.

I've asked my husband to buy me a Peridot the next time he gets me a wedding ring because I am done with Diamonds. I have nothing against Diamonds per se, it's the manner in which they are obtained that bothers me. If I had known at the time that people in Africa were losing their lives and limbs over Diamonds, I wouldn't have one now. I know, I know, I know they say there is a such thing as conflict-free diamond, but I don't buy it. Apparently, Oprah and Ludacris have something in common, despite their public snubbing and criticism of one another, it's Diamonds.

He wears a Diamond encrusted Africa Pendant (yes, I am aware of the irony)

and she wears the biggest pair of diamond studs, dangles, and hoops she can find. Not to worry though, I am sure they are both making sure they are wearing "conflict-free Diamonds."

(Stepping off the soap box, and getting back on the subject). Anyway, if you want to some healing in your love live, some more confidence or if you were born in August, give Peridot a try. It's a friendly stone!

Dudelry (Man Jewelry)

Before we begin I want to announce the winner of my Giveaway. Congrats to spottedonetsy!!!! My daughter drew her name last night, and I'll be sending her earrings off very soon!!!!

I 've been making jewelry for women since 2002. Every show I work, some guy comes along and says "where's your guy stuff?' My response is always "I haven't done that yet." Secretly, knowing it's just not on my list of things to do.

I make a practice of giving teachers jewelry or bath and body products for the Holidays or gift-giving seasons. Once I had one man teacher I forgot to give a gift and he said "just make me something you would make for your husband." I walked away sad and ashamed because I had never made any jewelry for my husband, so I knew that teacher would never get a piece of man jewelry from me.

Well, recently I promised to make something for my husband. We got all the way to Michael's and we picked out some beads and twine. I pretended to be excited, but deep in my heart I feared I wouldn't ever get to it. I guess my husband must have been hip because he got home and got to work making pieces for himself. BTW- he's a designer. We actually own a Advertising and Design agency together and he is the main designer there, so ladies you might not want to try this at home your husband will probably laugh at you for suggesting he make jewelry instead of watching the game. Here's his manelry or dudelry, it's really great!

Here are some other pics of men who wear manerly:

Now I am aware that I have put two famous cheaters together, and I am not in the habit of promoting cheaters. However, I couldn't think of any other man jewelry wearers similar to what hubby made. Just know that I am still on Team Jen and Halle!!!!

Russell Simmons actually has a whole line of jewelry called green, it's a non-profit that sends money to the Diamond Empowerment Fund. If your husband wants to try some cool manelry at least he'll have a cool cover if the boys tease him.
