Hot Accessory Trends

Big stand out accessories are becoming a huge trend. Gone for now, are the days of small understated pearls and diamond studs. Now, it's all about big and bold. I've absolutely got to step up my chunky jewelry inventory, but for now here are a few of my bracelets and things. Don't laugh...

I have to thank God for blessing me with yet another year. Here's some of the designs I've been working on.

Geometric Shaped Earrings

I think wearing a geometric shaped earring gives the face a pop. It adds interest and makes the wearer look like they are fully accessorized even if they are just wearing that one set of earrings. Here are some of my new Polymer clay geometric earrings. I just made them last night. I've been up way too much at night making jewelry. I have a showing tomorrow night, so I'm on the grind.

Here are some celebs wearing their geometric shaped earrings.

Here is Kelly Rowland of Beyonce's Group Destiny's Child wearing a nice double round shaped dangle.

Here is Mary J. wearing the same pair. It always trips me out that these celebs can have so much money, but they all end up wearing the same accessories and outfits. I guess there are some benefits to being a thousandnaire like me, because I rarely see my style when I step out... that's right I said it:)

and of course, here is the queen herself wearing a pair of triangle earrings. These are lovely. Sorry, my photoshop is on the fritz or else I would have went on and taken her skin down a few shades. LOL!!! Just Kidding.

I like them on Chains

I have a long neck, so I make lots of earrings for long neck beauties. I imagine that one day all the fashion models of the world will come and sweep up all my long earrings. Anywaaaaaay...hmmmm. For right now, I have to remember to shorten them for average length necks beauties if I want to make any sales at all. Hey, it's not all about sales, but I gotta sell or they will just pile up. There are only so many teacher gift giving occasions:)

Here's an example of Keyshia Cole wearing earrings on a chain (the shorter version)

Check out the Music video were she wears them:

Dangles and the Stars

With the advent of the eighties fashion all around us, earrings are all around us. Dangles, dangles, dangles were all the rage in the eighties. If you weren't there, pretend I wasn't either. Let's pretend I didn't wear the colorful pop art looking dangles in purple, hot pink, vibrant orange, etc. Anyway, I've decided to try my hand at a new take on the eighties, plus I found some examples of stars with their dangles.

These are in the crazy electric blue of the eighties!!! Loves the shimmer look you know.

Hillary Duff obviously likes stunning dangles. Look at these whoppers. I love them! It seems that the skinnier she's gotten the bigger her earrings have grown.

These are my magenta sensations. I was up until 1:00 am making these last night! Pretty proud of them. I've actually just started with polymer. I sold the first batch before I could photograph them. These are for sale on Etsy. My site link is that way----------->>>>>>>

These are worn by the "Devil Wears Prada" girl. Of course my creations are not diamonds, but they are a vertical dangle like these.

How to Wear Big and Long earrings

I love love love to wear and design long and large earrings. When I am out and about at shows I always hear women say they love big earrings, but they don't know how to wear them. I hear things like "my hair is too short," or "my hair is too long" or "where would I wear them." There are no rules to wearing large earrings. I do suggest going for lightweight and large, as opposed to large and heavy. If they are too heavy, plan to wear them only a few hours. Here are some pics of famous folks enjoying long and big earrings. Tell me what you think.

Here is Carmen Electra wearing a nice round large earring. Her hair is in full bloom, and she hasn't allowed that to hinder her from enjoying a bold look! Even if her marriage succumbed to the reality show curse, she looks great like it didn't bother her one bit! That's the way to work it girl!

Chaka Khan is wearing a double extension pair of fabulous earrings! When buying a pair like this, look for lightweight materials or hollowness inside. Love, Love Love her, she's still making it hot!

Here is Heidi Klum with a great updo to show off her chandelier earrings. The dangles are fantastic. However, you may have seen Tyra with that look first since she tends to walks the path that Tyra has blazed (Seal, Reality T.V., Victoria's Secret). No matter who may have had it first, it still looks great on her.

Gwyneth Paltrow is displaying these wonderful long vertical earrings. They compliment her face well. Vertical lengthy earrings are great especially when they have links or flexibility. This prevents the constant scraping of the collar bone or neck. Movement in long earrings is a very good thing. I'm sure she's feeling like it's also a good thing she got away from Brad, before he humiliated her like he did Jen. I'm sorry for that remark, I might be the only one who is still mad at Ang & Brad.

Naomi Campbell is styling in her shorten vertical glitzy earrings. They look great with her short bob. They accentuate her cut in just the right way. Doesn't show her fists though, they are balled up ready to swing. LOL!!!, Just kidding... I don't want a phone in the eye:)

Hoops are Hot

Hoops are all the rage these days. The trend comes from eighties golden door knockers. I wasn't much of a door knocker girls back in the eighties, but I love hoops. Here are some examples of Sarah Jessica Parker, Jessica Simpson, Jill Scott, Mary J. Blige, and other stars sportin' their hoops. I put a spin on the hoop trend by making teardrop hoops. The are light, flexible, mine are all made of sterling silver in some form or another.
