Her birthday was yesterday, but I missed it. I am going to do my tribute to her now. Her spirit must be very very strong around this time of year because I had no idea it was her birthday, but I felt compelled to do a tribute to her about 4 days ago.

She was amazing and has always been an inspiration to me. I remember the first time I saw "Carmen Jones" when I was a kid. I just thought she was glorious! It was so wonderful to see a woman in the golden age of cinema that looked more like me. Thanks for sharing the great photos :)
I didnt know anything about her until Halle did that movie... when I first starting hearing about her getting the role then I started doing some research... she was really dynamic
ok. i was unaware that the carmen hip hopera was based on anything of significance. (and i like the beyonce film. most of it anyway)

@ Fly Tie it is a must rent. Dorothy Dandrige was amazing to watch. Whenever I would see it on (mostly February) as a little girl I would just be in awe.
